More New Businesses Open in Dover
Dover Town Centre Management is delighted to see so many new, quality businesses coming to Dover. As always, we are pleased to help with any promotions or publicity, particularly with the organisation of launching events. Recently we have organised two such events, for some fabulous new businesses, which we welcome to Dover and wish great success:
NewMart - Pencester Road
L & Y Satellite / Halal International Food - Castle Street
TCM joined forces with the Dover Loyalty Scheme to launch Dover’s newest indoor market last month.
New owners of Newmart, (formerly The Indoor Market), Mary & Gerry Davies asked TCM’s Co-ordinator, David Somers and Roger Walkden, Dover Loyalty Scheme boss to organise their shop launch.
Shoppers were entertained during the day and there was a special showing of work by the White Cliffs Creatives’ Guild. Raffle prizes were won and visitors had the opportunity of joining the Loyalty Scheme on the day.
Newmart has completely changed inside with new stallholders offering a range of items from army surplus clothes, pet food and furniture as well as an established café called Coffee and Cream.
Castle Street in Dover hails the arrival of two new stores. In fact the street gets two stores in one, both under one roof.
Owners of L&Y Satellite and Halal International Food opened up both their stores on 1st October.
Owners of the two stores, husband and wife team, Mazen Khader and Donna Khader wanted to be different. They hope to bring to the town a range of goods not currently on offer in Dover.
Donna said “we want to attract not only foreign people to our food shop but hope everybody will find something of interest in their shop.
First time shop owners Mazen and Donna’s, said that their two in one shop was a relatively new concept to Dover. Asked how they decided on a food and satellite shop they replied “there are no decent food shop offering mainly Arabic food.” Mazen, who is also an interpreter originally wanted to open just the satellite business but after speaking to friends saw a need for a Halal foodstore.
When asked about the future, the Dover based couple commented ” we would like to open a restaurant in the future but are happy with the interest we have had in our shop over the last few weeks.”
